On Thursday, Sept. 13 Chicagoans will have the opportunity to participate in the Champion Challenge at the Lakeview Chicago Athletic Clubs (CAC) to benefit the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation. Participants will work to raise $75k for the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, which provides financial assistance to families with children battling cancer, including those at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
“We’re honored to unite our passion for fitness and changing people’s lives with an incredible organization like the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation,” said Pat Cunningham, Owner of Chicago Athletic Clubs. “Events like the Champion Challenge inspire people to take action and make a difference in children’s lives.”
Kicking off at 5:30 p.m. CT at Lakeview Athletic Club, Chicagoans of all fitness levels will team up in four waves of 90 people to complete a one-hour group circuit workout consisting of three 20-minute activities, including cycling, body pumping and endurance, as well as functional training. The Champion Challenge also includes team awards; food vendors including Body Armor, Buona Beef and Veggie Grill; as well as libations, a photo booth and additional fun activities. Challenge participants will have the opportunity to win prizes such as a meet-and-greet with Anthony Rizzo, Chicago Cubs’ press box visits, and batting practice experiences.

“Partnering with a local business like Chicago Athletic Clubs to raise money so families with kids battling cancer don’t have to make tough choices means a lot to me,” said Anthony Rizzo, Cubs first baseman and Founder of the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation. “I hope people will make the Champion Challenge their workout for the day, so they can do their part to support these kids.”
Registration to participate in the workout portion of the Champion Challenge is $25 and participants are required to raise a minimum of a $200. Those who wish to attend but not participate in the workout portion can register as a Challenge Cheerleader for $20. Net proceeds benefit the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation.

About the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation
The Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Chicago Cubs First Baseman Anthony Rizzo. Anthony realized during his own battle with cancer that no matter how difficult fighting cancer was for him, it was even more difficult for his family. Anthony believes that an individual does not battle cancer alone, but that the whole family battles it together. The Mission of the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation is to raise money for cancer research and to provide support to children and their families battling the disease. The Foundation is run entirely by Anthony’s family, his close friends and his management team with Anthony providing oversight and leadership.
