Chicago Has 2 of the Best Italian Restaurants in Nation

TimeOut Magazine included two north side eateries among its best in America.

Americans in big cities love Italian food, so it wasn’t a surprise to see TimeOut Magazine include two Chicago eateries in its recent list of the best Italian restaurants in America.

While the Midwest’s largest city was snubbed out of the top ten, Osteria Langhe in Logan Square came in at No. 15 on the list.

“The space is warm and cozy, and you’ll want to order a bottle of well-chosen wine for the table before diving into the food,” according to TimeOut. “The plin, miniature agnolotti filled with cheese, are beautiful and light; the beef tartare is impeccably seasoned; and the vitello tonnato tops tender slices of beef with a vibrant tuna citrus caper aioli.”

Cafe Spiaggia, on the Near North Side, came in at No. 17.

“The bright, airy room is more casual, prices are lower, and service is less formal, making it a relaxed spot for pasta, like thick strands of bucatini in a spicy ‘nduja sauce,” was included in their review.

The top five was dominated by east coast establishments. Restaurants in California and Colorado helped round out the top ten.
