Chicago Police CAPS Meeting To Be Held In Sheridan Park

The meeting will discuss policing issues in 19th District 1913, which includes parts of Uptown and Sheridan Park.

CHICAGO, IL — The 19th District will be holding a Community Alternative Policing Strategy meeting on Tuesday, March 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the Sheridan Park neighborhood. The meeting will discuss crime, community concerns and other policing issues in the 19th District's Beat 1913, which includes parts of Uptown and Sheridan Park (see map below). The CAPS meeting will be held at Mary E. Courtenay Language Arts Center, 4420 N. Beacon St.

The main purpose for holding beat meetings is for local residents and police to work together to identify, address and solve chronic problems in the area.

The meetings are hosted by the Chicago Police Department, and will include an overview of progress made on problems addressed in the former beat meeting, as well as new problems, strategies and coordination of responsibilities.

Residents, business owners and representatives from local schools, churches and neighborhood organizations are encouraged to attend, CPD said.
