Crews started replacing almost 700 feet of deteriorating ties, rails and signal systems July 13. Some components are more than 50 years old, CTA officials said in a news release.
The renovation closes the station and surrounding area for a $4.6 million reconstruction.
Travelers that would normally get off at that station can use the Kedzie Brown Line stop, about .4 miles away. All Brown Line trains will start and end service from that stop.
