Eataly Closed Monday to Recover from Crowds

The Italian superstore closed to 'preserve standards' and will reopen on Tuesday morning.

Eataly, the new 63,000-square-foot gourmet superstore that opened last week at 43 E. Ohio, closed its doors for the day Monday because its supply was running low.

A letter from the restaurant said that, since it opened on Dec. 2, 120,000 have visited the new location.

"Because of this deep understanding of our manifesto and what we believe in, we have decided to close the store on Monday, Dec. 9th, in order to preserve our standards of quality and service," said a statement by Eataly on their website. "We want to pay back your love and passion for Eataly Chicago by providing you the best food and the best service."

Eataly will reopen on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
