Edgewater Arts Festival To Feature 100 Chicago-Based Artists
The event will include three stages of live music, a beer and wine garden and a young artists' gallery.

CHICAGO — The 6th Annual Edgewater Arts Festival is coming to Chicago's North Side at the end of September. The family-friendly event will feature music and art "in all its forms" and showcase the city's cultural diversity, organizers said.
Hosted by Edgewater Artists in Motion, the festival will be held Sept. 29 and 30 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1030-1140 W. Granville Ave., between Broadway Street and Sheridan Road (just off the “L” Red Line Granville Stop).
Admission cost is a suggested donation of $5. The event includes art, live music, craft beers and food from Granville Avenue restaurants.

There will be 100 Chicago-based artists at the event, selected by a juried process, organizers said. The artists will exhibit original works: painting, drawing, photography, hand-made jewelry, glasswork, illustration, pottery, mixed media and functional/wearable art.
The event will also feature three stages of live music: co-headliners will include Great Moments in Vinyl (featuring music of the Beatles, David Bowie and Fleetwood Mac) and La Tosca (featuring Italian and Latin influences). Twenty acts and more than 50 performers spanning jazz, reggae, blues, funk, flamenco, African drumming, Americana, pop/rock, classical music, barbershop and choir singing will "create a rich musical backdrop for the two-day event," organizers said.

There will be a beer and wine garden at the festival, with craft beer and Arrogant Frog Wine from France and food from Fireside Restaurant & Lounge.
The event will also showcase artwork and performances from 11 area schools as part of the Young Artists' Gallery.
“The festival is a fantastic family event because there is so much to see and experience,” said Rae Ann Cecrle, president of Edgewater Artists in Motion. “The array of art is a feast for the eyes. The variety of music is pure joy for the ears. We love seeing how families interact with the artists at this event. It truly draws our community together.”
Another event will be held at Gallery 1070 after the festival closes on Saturday night — Great Moments in Vinyl will perform Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours” album in its entirety to 100 attendees. A $20 donation includes the concert plus two glasses of Arrogant Frog, the featured fine French wine of the festival.
