Elizabeth Named One of Chicago Magazine's Best New Restaurants

The new gatherer-themed hot spot is the only restaurant to make the list in Lincoln Square.

The staff at Chicago Magazine may have scoured the city—and a few suburbs—to collect their annual Best New Restaurants list, but in the end, just one Lincoln Square eatery made the cut.

After tasting their way through 73 contenders, Elizabeth snagged the 4th spot on the publication’s competitive list of newcomers. In 2013, Chicago Magazine only listed 18 restaurants, compared to the 20 that made the list in 2012.

"So many chefs slavishly hook onto trends, but (Chef Iliana) Regan remains refreshingly oblivious to them,” the magazine wrote. “Get to Elizabeth before she realizes how good she is."

Located at 4835 N. Western Ave., Elizabeth opened in September and has been seemingly packed with diners ever since. The restaurant's three ticketed menus range from $75 to $175 and take diners through "nose to tail, root to branch, and farm to table Midwestern bounty."

High-end restaurant Grace in the West Loop topped Chicago Magazine’s list, with other North Side restaurants like Wicker Park's Trenchermen and Lake View's Milt's Barbecue for the Perplexed coming in at 7th and 18th on the list.
