First Look: Crews Piece Together Framework for Mariano's Fresh Market

Construction is on schedule for the development, which includes a Sears and L.A. Fitness.

A mild summer with weather meant for construction has put the Mariano's Fresh Market ahead of schedule.

Although the official word for an opening date is still January 2014, Ravenswood residents might get their new grocery store as early as November, workers confirmed at the site Tuesday.

The new grocery store broke ground at 1800 W. Lawrence Ave. in December.

An L.A. Fitness and Sears Auto Center will be on the ground floor of the new building, with the market on the second floor and rooftop parking.

The development runs parallel to the construction of a new Ravenswood Metra Station, 150 residential apartments and streetscape beautification on Lawrence.
