Good Samaritans Rescue Wounded Dog On Lake Shore Drive
The poor pup had been hit by a car, and was wandering between Belmont and Irving Park, his rescuers said.

CHICAGO — A bleeding dog was rescued by drivers who spotted him wandering on Lake Shore Drive Wednesday on the city's North Side. Domino was "so scared" and "running everywhere" after being hit by a car, one of his rescuers explained in a Facebook post.
Anthony Mesok said he had to drive ahead and jump out of his car twice to try and help the wounded dog.
"I didn't see him, then people started yelling, 'He's in your car.' He has jumped in the driver side and was laying on the floor by the pedals." Mesok explained in his open post.

He said Domino had been hit by a car and was "bleeding everywhere."
"All the other drivers were so patient and caring," Mesok's post read. "Especially as it was the height of rush hour, 8:30 am SB on LSD between Irving Park and Belmont."

Mesok said a woman named Julia offered to take the dog to the vet.
"The first vet we called had no interest in helping. I will be leaving them a nice big 1 star on Yelp," Mesok said.
The rescuers said the experience was extremely emotional.
In another Facebook post Sunday, Mesok said Domino, who was recently adopted, went into surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
More than 60 people sent messages of thanks on the post to Domino's rescuers.
