High School In Ravenswood Receives $1M Donation

CHICAGO, IL — A high school on Chicago's North Side has received a $1 million donation. Former Walgreens CEO Dan Jorndt made the donation to Amundsen High School in Ravenswood, where he went to school. Jorndt's father taught at the school for more than two decades.
The donation will go to revamping the school's football field. Jorndt said his father dreamed that four Chicago schools would have stadiums that other schools could share.
Six graduating seniors known for their leadership and academic standing were also awarded $15,000 each.
