iO Invites Michael Bay to Take a Class

The Transformers director had a major flub at a press conference earlier this week — and Lake View's iO Theatre wants to help.

Director Michael Bay had a major public fail on Monday — and Lake View's iO Theatre wants to help him avoid a second one.

iO, the famed improv comedy club and school in Wrigleyville, has Bay to come take a free class after his recent meltdown at a Samsung press event, in which the teleprompter broke and Bay became flustered and walked off of the stage.

Forbes Magazine wrote an article about what business leaders could do to avoid a similar situation, including taking an improv class.

"Improv comedy is your best friend," the Forbes magazine article states. "It is the skill of taking a key word or concept and running with an unscripted idea...everyone who has to do presentations big or small should take a class or watch plenty of improv. iO in Chicago is one of my all time favorite places to learn and watch improv."

iO said in a Facebook post on Monday that they agree with Forbes magazine, and they invited Bay to take a complimentary class at either their Chicago or Hollywood locations.

"Forbes Magazine thinks level one at iO could have saved Michael Bay a lot of trouble this week," iO said in their Facebook post. "We agree, and would officially like to invite Mr. Bay to take a class at either of our Chicago or Hollywood training centers, completely free of charge."

No word yet if Bay accepted the offer, although with Transformers 5 and 6 already in the works, he'll have plenty of time to take a couple classes in Chicago.
