Laurie's Planet Of Sound Hit By 'Mr. McDrunkbeard': Owners
Owners of the Lincoln Square record shop say a drunken man on "St. Puketricks day" destroyed their 22-year-old neon sign.

CHICAGO — Chicago has a reputation for being the best St. Patrick's Day party destination in the country, but for many who live in local neighborhoods, the day can become a game of dodging drunken green mobs and avoiding sidewalk puke. Even the wind in The Windy City smells like cheap whiskey.
The owners of Laurie's Planet of Sound in Lincoln Square said one partier, whom they not-so-fondly dubbed "Harry McDrunkbeard," couldn't control himself.
"Harry McDrunkbeard came in the store today and proceeded to fall against our giant neon sign. He then fell into the DVDs. They went flying and he fell to the floor with them," the owners said in a widely-circulated Facebook post.

"Old Harry absolutely destroyed the neon sign. Police were called. Harry was taken to a hospital to dry out, and we were told to contact our insurance company. Apparently, ol' Harry won't have to pay us a dime, since it was an accident."
The owners said they have a high deductible, so it will cost them "one way or the other." The store's credit card was maxed out buying Record Store Day stock, so the damage came at a bad time, they said.

"Mr. McDrunkbeard gets to dry out, clean up, and live to celebrate another St. Puketricks day unmarked by so little as a ticket," the owners said.
Their next step is to discuss the matter with their insurance company, according to an update posted earlier this week.
"No matter what, we'll get that thing rebuilt. It just may take a couple of months."
