Lincoln Square Home Sells for Double Its Price in 2001
After converting the two-flat building into a single-family home with more rooms and a wine cellar, the owners sold the house for $1 million.

Two homes on the North Side sold for just over $1 million, Chicago Magazine reports. Both houses, one in Lake View and the other in Lincoln Square, closed on the last day of April.
In Lincoln Square, buyers bought the Bowmanville home at 1944 W. Farragut Ave. for $1,075,000. The original owners paid almost half that when they bought it in 2001, according to the Cook County Recorder of Deeds.
The original purchase price in 2001 was $417,000, but since then, the owners rehabbed the building into a six-bedroom home with wine cellar, fireplaces and rooftop patios on the house and garage.
