Lincoln Square Summer Concert Series: Tijuana Hercules Up Next

The neighborhood's popular free summer series is held every Thursday evening at Giddings Plaza. This week's band plays Swamp blues.

CHICAGO, IL — Jazz, blues, rock, funk, folk, pop and Latin bands have been entertaining the masses at Giddings Plaza in Lincoln Square this summer. The annual free Summer Concert Series will be held every Thursday evening until Aug. 30, weather permitting. The performances will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

This Thursday, July 19, the band Tijuana Hercules will be playing. The band is inspired by Swamp blues — a laid-back, slow tempo and often more rhythmic variation of Louisiana blues. The style developed in the 1950s and reached peak popularity in the 1960s.

You can preview Tijuana Hercules' music here.
