Man Injured In Ravenswood Shooting

The shooting appears to be targeted, police said.

CHICAGO — A 33-year-old man was injured in a shooting Monday in Ravenswood, police said. The man was sitting in a vehicle at about 2:40 p.m. in the 5000 block of North Francisco Avenue, when another vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots, according to police.

The man was shot in the lower abdomen, police said. He took himself to Swedish Covenant Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

The man was a member of the Latin Kings street gang, police said, and his shooting appears to have been targeted.

Detectives are working on finding surveillance video of the shooting and have added patrols in the area, according to a statement obtained by Ald. Pat O'Connor.

No one has been taken into custody.
