Man Shot To Death In Rogers Park

CHICAGO — A 42-year-old man was shot and killed in the Rogers Park neighborhood Thursday night, police said. The victim was shot at about 11:13 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Howard Street, according to police.

The man was standing on a sidewalk, when he was shot in the back, police said. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The man has been identified as John Williams, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Area North detectives were investigating.
