Monk Sexually Assaulted Children At Buddhist Temple: Police

The children were assaulted at a temple in Sheridan Park, police said.

CHICAGO — A monk who taught at a Buddhist temple on Chicago's North Side has been charged with sexual assault, police said. Two children were assaulted between 2001 and 2002, according to police.

Sripai Biadnok, believed to be in his early 30s, was arrested Thursday, police said. He taught Thai language and culture classes for children at the Wat Phrasriratanamahadhatu temple in Sheridan Park, 4735 N. Magnolia Ave.

Biadnok fondled and sexually assaulted two of his students in the classroom area, according to police.

He has been charged with felony counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, police said.

Biadnok taught at the temple from about 2000 to 2002, according to police.
