Nick's Pizza & Pub To Close In Lincoln Square
The pizzeria has been open for a year on Montrose.

CHICAGO — Nick's Pizza & Pub will close Nov. 4 in Lincoln Square, its owner announced in a Facebook video post. Nick Sarillo began the chain with restaurants in Crystal Lake and Elgin, and dreamed of opening a Chicago location. In his video post, Sarillo was honest about why the pizzeria at 2434 W. Montrose Avenue didn't work out.
“Our other two restaurants in Crystal Lake and Elgin couldn’t sustain paying for the losses in this new restaurant anymore and we need those two restaurants to stay open,” he said.
Eater Chicago called Sarillo's Facebook post "refreshingly honest." The report noted there's plenty of pizzeria competition on Chicago's North Side.

“It was 2004 when I first dreamed of bringing Nick’s Pizza & Pub to the North Side of Chicago, back to my old neighborhood where I grew up,” he said in the Facebook video.
