Regal Cinema Adding IMAX Screen, Renovating Concessions Area

The theater company is adding multiple new features to its North Side cinema on Western Avenue.

New features will soon becoming to the Regal City North Stadium 14, with construction slated for both a screening space and the concessions area, City of Chicago permits confirm.

The cinema, located at 2600 N. Western Ave., will soon have crews doing an estimated $220,000 build out. Regal will be adding a new IMAX screen, in addition to renovating their existing concessions support area, plans detail.

Regal on Western is already home to 3D movie capabilities, as well as the Regal Premium Experience, or RPX.

Regal’s RPX is a “custom-built premium environment featuring elegant and luxurious seats with high-back headrests, a giant immersive screen illuminated by high-quality digital projectors and completed with a state-of-the-art sound system for the best picture you’ve ever heard,” the company told BigScreen.com.

A representative with Regal did not grant Patch’s request for additional information about the renovation project.
