Santa Gets Stuck Upside Down In Lincoln Square Chimney

Too many cookies, Santa? A talented workshop owner in Lincoln Square is at it again, this time with a popular Christmas display.

CHICAGO, IL — Sorry, kids, Santa may be delayed delivering presents this year—it seems he got himself stuck in a chimney in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood. A creative workshop owner has devised a hilarious kicking Santa display above his home, and it's sparking many laughs. Kevin Byrne created the mechanical kicking legs (yes – they actually kick) in his Funtitled Workshop, complete with a faux chimney, which he said has has fooled many people passing by.

"A number of people have thought the chimney was real," Byrne explained. "When we were setting it up, a woman on the street was shocked when the whole chimney rotated."

Byrne, who is largely self-taught, has worked professionally in technical theater and was responsible for maintaining the lobby installation at Blue Man Group Chicago. He detailed his santa creation on his website from start to finish.

"We've received good feedback from the neighbors and the firehouse across the street," Byrne said.

The designer is known throughout his neighborhood for his impressive seasonal decor, particularly his massive grim reaper Halloween display.

"I'm not sure how we keep up the trend–what do we do for Valentine's Day, St. Patricks's Day, Easter?" He joked. "I'm running out of storage!"

In case you want to fool your kids, the kicking Santa is located at 2319 W. Foster Ave.
