St. Matthias Kindergarten Program Expanded

For the 2021-2022 school year, St. Matthias is pleased to offer a second Kindergarten classroom.

Highlights of our Kindergarten program include:

• Full Day Kindergarten (2 classrooms)
• Each Kindergarten class led by a certified teacher and teacher assistant and not to exceed 25 students
• Students engaged in the International Baccalaureate units of study--aligned with the core curriculum areas of Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science and Religion with the integration of Technology, Music, Art, Gym and World Language (Spanish)
• Faith formation to include instruction in religion, Mass participation, religious retreat and service projects
• 1:1 iPad beginning in Kindergarten and throughout all grades at St. Matthias School
• iReady diagnostic testing administered three times/year; allowing for the assessment of growth in Math and Reading and individualized instruction
• Social & emotional instruction provided on a daily basis and tied to the International Baccalaureate learner profile traits. Students actively engaged in becoming knowledgeable, principled, open-minded, balanced, caring, reflective inquirers, thinkers, communicators and risk-takers.
• Hot lunch, before and aftercare and enrichment programs available
