Thai Restaurant To Open In Lincoln Square

The new restaurant will take over the former Opart Thai spot on Western Avenue.

CHICAGO, IL — Those who are missing Opart Thai House dining in Lincoln Square will soon have a new option in the same location. Green Leaf Thai Cuisine is set to open later this month at 4658 N. Western Avenue, according to a Facebook post by Deer Udompaichitkul, the son of former Opart chef Rattiya Udompaichitkul. He said he's "really excited for new Thai dishes" at his family's new eatery.

"I'm working my hardest for my family, so the restaurant can be successful," he posted. "Thank you everyone for the help."

The new restaurant will remain BYOB like its predecessor and include many dishes from the Opart menu, but add new options such as som tum gaiyang (marinated chicken, papaya salad and sticky rice) and meerkarti (stir-fried pink noodles, onion, tofu and shrimp), according to a report by Eater Chicago.
