9-Year-Old Dies After I-88 Crash
A 30-year-old Lombard woman was also killed in the crash.
LISLE, IL — A 9-year-old died two days after a crash involving a car and a semi-trailer on I-88 near Lisle. State police said the child, whose name was not released, died Thursday at Lurie Children's Hospital.
A 30-year-old woman, identified as Ashley Skrobot of Lisle, was also killed in the crash, the Daily Herald reported.
Illinois State Police said Skrobot was driving a 2009 Honda Accord in the left lane westbound on I-88 near the Route 53 exit just before 11 a.m. Tuesday when she lost control, causing the Honda to hit a median and then go back into traffic, where it was hit by a semi-trailer.

Crews from the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Department arrived to find two people trapped inside their heavily damaged vehicle. The crews extricated both injured occupants. Skrobot was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where she died.
The driver of the semi refused treatment at the scene.
