Amita Health Plans To Relocate To Lisle, More Than 1,000 Employees Affected

Amita Health is planning to relocate its headquarters to Lisle, where it will occupy 225,000 square feet of space on the Navistar Campus.

LISLE, IL — More than 1,000 employees of Amita Health might face a longer commute if the company goes through with a plan to consolidate its headquarters in Lisle. The affected Amita Health employees currently work in Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, Bolingbrook, and Elk Grove Village. If this plan moves forward, Amita's headquarters will occupy space in the Navistar campus off Warrenville Road and could be beneficial to the Lisle's economy in the long run.

The potential benefits of Amita's move were not lost on Lisle Trustees at a recent village meeting. Trustee Anthony Caballo called it a "big win" for the village of roughly 23,000 people during the meeting. Trustees hope the transition will encourage Amita workers to consider relocating to Lisle. Navistar is requesting village approval of 176 additional parking spaces to accommodate Amita, according to Chicago Tribune. The village board is currently drafting up an ordinance with a target date of August 31 for a signed lease.

Amita's 10-year lease also stands to benefit Navistar, which now houses nearly half the employees it once did at its 84-acre campus, according to Daily Herald. Amita would occupy 225,000 square feet at the Navistar campus and may help motivate other companies to relocate to vacant office spaces in Lisle and the surrounding communities.
