Boy, 14, Saved From Multi-Unit House Fire In Lisle
Fire officials say the boy was trapped in one of the units and rescued by an officer.

LISLE, IL — A Lisle police officer rescued a 14-year-old boy who was trapped inside a multi-unit home after a fire broke out in the 2700 block of Wayfaring Lane late Tuesday.
Police said in a Facebook post that Officer Bill Wise, a 21-year veteran of the force, was nearby and quickly arrived at the scene of the fire. Wise forced way through a blocked basement window and pulled the boy out of the small window to safety, fire officials said in a news release.

Lisle Trustee Sara Sadat thanked first responders in a statement. Sadat told Patch, "As a resident of Lisle, I am so proud of our first responders who don’t hesitate in their service to their community. I wish a quick recovery to the young man and the police officer who acted swiftly in the commission of his duties showing bravery and selflessness... a true representation of the heroes we have in our police department."
