LISLE, IL — A pair of cousins is being held without bond in connection with the armed robbery of a Verizon store in Lisle Saturday evening. Ezekiel and Arron Thompson, both 24, are accused of tying up an employee, stealing his wallet and keys, and then fleeing in his car after the robbery.

Police say the Thompsons came into the store at 1104 Ogden Ave. just after 6:30 p.m. wearing hoods and masks. The men are then accused of pointing guns at the Verizon employee and demanding that they go to the back of the store and open the phone vault.

Once inside the vault, police say the men forced the employee to fill a duffel bag with cellphones. They are then accused of restraining the employee with zip ties before taking his keys and wallet and fleeing the scene in his car.

Shortly after the armed robbery, police found the Thompsons in the parking lot of a Woodridge shopping center. They were taken into custody after attempting to flee on foot, police said.

In a statement, DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said, "It is alleged that these two men armed themselves, disguised their identity and threatened at gunpoint a store employee just trying to make an honest living. As demonstrated with the quick apprehension of these suspects, brazen acts of violence as alleged in this case, will attract the full force of DuPage County law enforcement."
