Driver Dead After Fleeing Lisle Police, Crashing: Cops
Police say the driver fled a traffic stop and then got into a single-car crash.
LISLE, IL — A 30-year-old man died in a single-car crash Tuesday after fleeing Lisle police following a traffic stop, according to a news release from Lisle Police Department Deputy Chief Kevin Licko.
Police say an officer tried to stop the man's car for speeding in the 1700 block of Ogden Avenue Tuesday just before 1:15 a.m. The car pulled to the side of the road, but then pulled away at a high rate of speed as an officer approached the car, according to police.
Two Lisle police officers pursued the car north on Naper Boulevard and found it had been in a single-car crash on the entrance ramp to eastbound I-88.

Police say they discovered the car had been reported stolen in Chicago on Dec. 16.
The 30-year-old driver died at Edward Hospital shortly after the crash. A 29-year-old woman who was a passenger in the car was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
