Driver Shot On I-88 Near I-355: Illinois State Police
The driver, who was shot late Sunday, is expected to survive.
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — Illinois State Police are investigating a shooting that took place late Sunday on I-88 near I-355. Police say the victim was shot in the right shoulder at approximately 8:40 p.m. while driving westbound on I-88.
According to police, a preliminary investigation suggests that the shots were fired from a car that was also traveling westbound on I-88. In the aftermath of the shooting, traffic was diverted to exit at Highland Avenue for about two hours while the investigation was ongoing.
Police say the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening. According to police, no further information is available at press time.
