OAK BROOK, IL — The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will present a special Wonders of Winter open house on Feb. 1 at Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook. The family-friendly event will feature ice fishing, snowshoeing, geocaching, and more, if weather permits.

Families can also try to spot wildlife throughout the estate grounds, learn how to cut ice from a lake, or warm up around a fire with some S'mores.

If there isn't enough snow and ice to take part in winter activities outdoors, those who attend the Wonders of Winter open house will be able to try their hand at archery. In addition to outdoor recreation, Wonders of Winter will feature interactive games, arts, and crafts inside historic Mayslake Hall.
