Fire Damages Naperville Elementary School
A fire caused more than $100,000 in damage to a south Naperville elementary school Friday afternoon.
A fire caused more than $100,000 in damage to a south Naperville elementary school Friday afternoon.Â
No one was injured in the fire, which began around 12:23 p.m. Friday afternoon inside a portable classroom at Scott Elementary School, 500 Warwick Dr. The Naperville Fire Department dispatched 24 fire personnel and 9 emergency vehicles to the school, according to the fire department.  Â
Once firefighters arrived they found the building "well involved" in flames, which were burning through the roof of the portable classroom, according to the fire department.Â

Crews were able to to bring the blaze under control in about 15 minutes. The fire did not reach into the main building of the school, according to the fire department.
Naperville School District 203 officials also confirmed that there were no injuries and said school will resume for students on Monday.

According to District 203, the portable classroom is used for a YMCA after-school program, but the program was not in session at the time of the fire due to the Thanksgiving holiday.Â
The YMCA program will resume on Monday at a new location at Scott Elementary School, according to District 203. Â
Estimated damage to the building is more than $100,000, according to the fire department.Â
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.Â
