Futsal Finds its Way to Walker Athletics

LISLE, IL. – Growing from 5,000 in 2008 to 44,000 players in 2015, futsal is becoming one of the fastest growing youth sports in America. Walker Athletics announced they will be hosting their 1st exclusive Summer futsal tournaments and leagues. These futsal tournaments and leagues will give soccer players a way to be active during the Summer while working on their soccer skills while not in season.

Futsal has a proven track record of attracting highly motivated individuals who want to develop their skills. The sport gives soccer players a chance to work on their agility, quickness, footwork, and other skills by playing in a smaller space. The cost per team for each 2-day tournament is $250 and the cost per team for each 4-week league is $600. Both the tournaments and the leagues will be available to U8 – U19 age boys and girls, and adults.

The first tournament to be held on June 27-28 will feature the Chicago Red Stars soccer organization with merchandise prizes and giveaways. The second tournament on August 1-2 will feature the Chicago Fire organization with tickets and merchandise as prizes and giveaways. Each team will play at least 3 games as well as a championship game.

The first league session will run from June 29 – July 21, and the second league session is August 3 – September 4. Each team will play 1-2 games per night. Both leagues and tournaments will be held on professional level courts in an air-conditioned, private facility.
