A Lisle man is accused of robbing a Pilot gas station with a folding pocket knife, resisting arrest and telling officers "just shoot me."
CAROL STREAM, IL — A Lisle man has been accused of robbing a Carol Stream gas station with a folding pocket knife early Thursday and later resisting arrest while telling police "just shoot me." Paul Gleason, 34, was charged with armed robbery and resisting a peace officer in connection with the incident.
Police say Gleason walked into the Pilot gas station at 170 N. North Ave. just before 1:20 a.m., went up to the register and told the clerk, "I guess I'm going to have to rob [you.]" Gleason is then accused of taking a folding knife out of his pocket, opening it and displaying it for the clerk.
The clerk gave Gleason $120 from the register before Gleason fled, according to police.
