Gentle Learning Preschool Adds More Classes in 2021
Lisle Park District's preschool is expanding to offer new in-person learning opportunities for both 3 and 4-year-olds starting this January

Lisle, IL – The Lisle Park District’s Gentle Learning Preschool is adding new, in-person class options in the new year! Classes will begin starting in January, including a new 3-year-old class on Tuesday & Thursday mornings and a new 4-year-old class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons. For those that are not quite ready for in-person learning, a hybrid option and virtual classroom are also available for both 3 and 4-year-olds.
The 2020-2021 school year may look different than those past, but the mission at Gentle Learning Preschool remains the same – to provide a safe environment where children can learn through play. Play-based activities encourage students to learn and develop through hands-on experiences. Gentle Learning Preschool’s curriculum is aligned with Illinois Early Learning Standards and follows the procedures outlined in the Restore Illinois Plan to ensure lessons do not compromise students’ safety and health.
Preschool administration and staff are excited to expand their in-person learning opportunities in 2021 to help more students prepare for future academic success. Moreover, they are thankful for the support of their current preschool families, who have entrusted them with the safety and development of their little learners during these unprecedented times. The feedback provided by parents of students attending the preschool reaffirm that additional efforts of staff have not gone unnoticed, especially this school year.

“Bravo! The gratitude we have for you all! Our girl is happy, learning, and full of positive energy after a very long six months off of school. From start to finish, things run seamlessly when it comes to drop off, pick up and everything in between. The lessons, fun projects, books and activities are working incredibly well, and we are beyond excited about everything [our child] is learning and creating. You guys are doing such a superb job! We can’t thank you enough. [The teachers] are fabulous!”
Gentle Learning Preschool is located in the Lisle Park District Recreation Center at 1925 Ohio Street in Lisle. Due to COVID-19, state guidelines and safety procedures are enforced to protect the health of both students and staff. The preschool classrooms, motor room, and gated outdoor playground are located in a separate, secure area in the Recreation Center away from other programming and facilities. In addition to an in-classroom sink for frequent handwashing and sanitation, each preschool room has its own bathroom, including a pint-sized toilet and additional sink. Current mitigations for Tier 3 in the State of Illinois require students and staff to wear face coverings at all times.
