Lisle, IL – Get ready to get in the game this July with Lisle Park District and National Recreation and Park Association!

Each July, America celebrates Park and Recreation, highlighting the vital role local parks and recreation play in conservation, health and wellness, and social equity efforts in communities throughout the country. This year, it’s all about highlighting the fun, games, and exciting offerings at parks and recreation centers across the nation! From special events to sports leagues, and everything in between, Lisle Park District has a wide variety of great programs that bring the community together. NRPA and Lisle Park District are encouraging everyone to get out there and get in the game in their own way at their local parks and rec centers.

Lisle Park District is celebrating Park and Recreation Month at the following events in its parks and facilities throughout July in the Greater Lisle community:

· July 4-6: Lisle Eyes to the Skies Festival – Lisle Community Park

· JULY 4: 4th of July Parade, & Ice Cream Social at The Museums at Lisle Station Park – Festivities start at 10am, Downtown Lisle –AND– Independence Day Special – 11:30am-6pm, Sea Lion Aquatic Park

· JULY 9: FREE! Movies in the Park After Dark – Beethoven – 8:30pm, Woodglenn Park

· JULY 13: FREE! Kids Time – I-Spy – 10:30-11:30am, The Museums at Lisle Station Park

· JULY 14: Couples Golf Tournament – 3pm, River Bend Golf Club

· JULY 17: FREE! Summer Entertainment Series – Everett Dean & Lonesome Hearts – 7-8:30pm, Lisle Community Park, Van Kampen Memorial Stage

· JULY 19: Family Fun Fest – 6-8:30pm, Lisle Community Park

· JULY 21: Pass Holder Appreciation Night – 7-10pm, Sea Lion Aquatic Park

· JULY 23: FREE! Totally Tuesdays – Animal Farm– 12pm, Lisle Community Park Bandshell

The Lisle Park District provides a variety of leisure activities for people of all ages throughout the year. Park district facilities include Lisle Community Park; the Recreation Center which houses Gentle Learning Preschool, SEASPAR, the Senior Center, and multipurpose rooms; Sea Lion Aquatic Park; River Bend Golf Course; Wheatstack – A Midwestern Eatery & Tap and numerous neighborhood playgrounds and parks offering amenities such as tennis courts, ball fields, walking paths and picnic areas totaling close to 400 acres.
