Holiday Festivities Abound This December
The Lisle Park District has a number of festive opportunities for all ages, to get into the holiday spirit this December!

Lisle, IL – The Park District has a number of festive opportunities for all ages, to get into the holiday spirit this December!
Saturday, December 7, following the Santa Parade during Downtown Lisle’s Lights of Lisle celebration, Santa will stop at The Museums at Lisle Station Park, 921 School St., for free old fashioned fun with Mrs. Claus at Once Upon a Christmas. Festivities at the museum begin at 3pm and run through 8pm, including brick oven baking, blacksmith and wood working demonstrations, model railroad trains, children’s crafts, music, an ice carving demonstration, and more. The merry fun continues on Sunday, December 8, from 11am-4pm, with a special visit from Santa and his live reindeer from 11:30am-3:30pm. Also on Saturday, December 7, join in the Candy Cane Hunt at 10am and stay for Cookies with Mrs. Claus at 11am! Bring a basket or sack for your goodies to the Lisle Community Park Bandshell, 1825 Short St., at 10am sharp to hunt for a variety of candy canes. Children 10 and under will hunt for candy canes by age group (2 and under, 3-5, 6-10) in different areas of the park, and prizes will be awarded to those who find the special candy canes. Santa Claus is expected to stop by with more holiday treats. Save when you pre-register by December 6! Fee is $6 per resident and $9 per nonresident when you sign up by December 6. Registration is accepted on-site for $10 the day of the event.

Following the hunt from 11am-12:30pm at the Lisle Recreation Center, 1925 Ohio St., children ages 3-7 are invited to join Mrs. Claus and her elves for Christmas songs, story time with ‘Twas a Night Before Christmas, holiday-themed games, Christmas cookie decorating, and a holiday ornament creation to take home! Don’t forget your Christmas wish list for Mrs. Claus to deliver to Santa. Fee is $35 per resident and $50 per nonresident. Spend quality time with your family while enjoying a delicious brunch this holiday season; make reservations for Wheatstack’s annual Brunch with Santa at 5900 S. Route 53 in Lisle. On Sundays, December 8, 15, and 22, you can meet Santa and enjoy a cooked-to-order omelet, French toast and maple syrup, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, biscuits and sausage gravy, breakfast potatoes, mini muffins, lemon chicken, pasta, fruit, house salad, vegetables, chocolate fountain, coffee, soda, and/or tea. Seating begins at 9:30am, but be sure to call 630-968-1920, option 2, to make reservations soon, as there are limited seats available. The cost is $24 per adult, $13 per child age 5-10, and kids 4 and under eat for free. New this year, Èlan Photography will be on-site to capture the spirit of the season and provide you with an instant memory to take home! 5X7 or 8X10 prints will be available at an additional cost. If you need a little Christmas, head to Lisle High School (1800 Short St., Lisle), on Sunday, December 8 at 3pm for the park district’s adult choir holiday performance. Hear your favorite holiday carols; even sing along to a few beloved classics! Tickets for Take Note’s Holiday Choral Concert, Merry and Bright are available at the Lisle Recreation Center for $10 or at the door day-of (cash only).
No need to spend a late night waiting for the New Year to begin! Ring in 2020 with us on Saturday, December 28 for Itty Bitty New Year’s! Ages 2-6 and adults are welcome to join us for dancing, crafts, and a countdown to noon, complete with a balloon drop, snacks, and drinks. The celebration begins at 10am. Register you and your child by December 24; registration fee for resident/nonresident is $12/$18 per child.
The Lisle Park District provides a variety of leisure activities for people of all ages throughout the year. Park district facilities include Lisle Community Park; the Recreation Center which houses Gentle Learning Preschool, SEASPAR, the Senior Center, and multipurpose rooms; Sea Lion Aquatic Park; River Bend Golf Course; Wheatstack – A Midwestern Eatery & Tap and numerous neighborhood playgrounds and parks offering amenities such as tennis courts, ball fields, walking paths and picnic areas totaling close to 400 acres.
