Lisle Bans Recreational Cannabis Sales
The village opted out of recreational marijuana sales in a close vote.
LISLE, IL — If you want to buy adult use recreational cannabis after Jan. 1, 2020, you won't be able to do so in Lisle. The village voted 3-2 Monday in favor of an ordinance that would opt out of allowing recreational marijuana businesses, according to Daily Herald.
The vote comes as nearby Downers Grove and Wheaton have also voted to opt out.
Lisle had tossed around the idea of a referendum to get the public's opinion on adult use cannabis sales, but that idea has been tabled. Mayor Christopher Pecak said the village may still consider a referendum, which the mayor said would not have been an option had they opted in.
