Lisle Eases Outdoor Dining Regulations As Restaurants Reopen

LISLE, IL — CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article said Lisle would be adding picnic seating downtown. The village is not adding picnic seating downtown.

The village of Lisle is doing its part to accommodate restaurant owners and diners as the state moves into phase three of Gov. J.B. Pritker's Restore Illinois Plan. To help local restaurants, Lisle Mayor Christopher Pecak signed the COVID-19 Outdoor Eating and Drinking Relief Program, which allows restaurants that don't have outdoor dining permits to apply for a temporary outdoor dining permit and makes provisions for restaurants to use parking spaces and sidewalks for outdoor seating.

Those restaurants that do apply for a new outdoor dining permit will have the process expedited and reviewed by village staff, Lisle Trustee Sara Sadat told Patch.

Sadat told Patch, "Lisle’s small businesses are a vital part of our village. Our residents have been very patient and adhering to social distancing and will be rejoicing to patronize their favorite restaurants."
