Lisle Library District To Reopen Monday

The Lisle Library District will reopen July 6 with limited hours.

LISLE, IL — After closing in mid-March due to the new coronavirus shutdown, the Lisle Library District will reopen Monday. The library will open with limited hours to begin, and safety guidelines will be in place to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The Lisle Library District's hours will be as follows:

  • Monday through Friday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The first hour of Monday through Friday will be reserved for senior citizens, children and caregivers, pregnant patrons and those with compromised immune systems.

The following safety guidelines will be in place:

  • Masks are required (adult and children's masks are available at Lisle Library District)
  • Automated hand sanitizer stations and hand pumps
  • Patrons limited to one hour
  • Computer use limited to one hour
  • Meeting and study rooms closed until further notice
  • If you pull an item off the shelf and decide not to check it out, place it on a book cart to be sanitized
  • Curbside pickup will continue

Lisle Library District Director Tatiana Weinstein said in a written statement, "There is no doubt that re-opening the Library with modified hours and procedures will pose some challenges for both residents and for the LLD staff. But I am confident that our community will rise to the occasion for the benefit of all. Thank you for your understanding, for your patience, and for keeping each other healthy and safe."
