Lisle Police Host Self-Defense Classes For Kids, Adults
Police will offer sessions for students in kindergarten through 5th grade and for grownups.
LISLE, IL -- Lisle police will host two self-defense classes to help K through 5th grade students and adults learn how to protect themselves. The free classes will be held on Aug. 24 at 9 a.m. for students and 11:30 a.m. for adults.
At each session, members of One Light Self-Defense will teach participants how to be aware of their surroundings, how to identify an unsafe situation, and how to defend themselves. In addition to avoidance tactics, those who attend will learn defense techniques for grabs, chokes, hair pulls, and other types of attacks.
The 9 a.m. session is geared for students in kindergarten through 5th grade and the 11:30 a.m. session is tailored for adults. To take part in the self-defense classes, you must register in advance by emailing Officer Cindy McKay at cmckay@villageoflisle.org.
