Barricade Situation In Lisle Ends In Man's Arrest: Lisle Police
Police say they attempted to contact the residents inside the apartment for more than two hours.
LISLE, IL — Police in Lisle responded to a report of a possible barricaded hostage situation late Tuesday. The incident took place at an apartment complex in the 5800 block of Forest Avenue around 8:30 p.m., according to the Lisle Police Department.
Police say they got a call that a man living at the residence had intended to harm himself and another person. They added that they received information that the man had stabbed himself.
Lisle police posted up outside the building and say they made several attempts to contact the residents inside over a period of more than two hours. Police say DuPage Metro SWAT and other nearby police departments told the other residents of the apartment complex that they may need to evacuate or shelter in place.

According to police, they used a key to try to get into the apartment, but were unsuccessful. Around 11:20 p.m., police broke through the door to find two people lying on the floor. Police say they were both "mostly unharmed."
Police say the man was "intoxicated and uncooperative," but requested to go to a local hospital for an evaluation. The other person told police they had been asleep in bed and hadn't heard the officers knocking on the door.

According to police, the man kicked an officer in the knee before he was taken to the hospital.
Police added that an investigation is ongoing.
