Lisle Trick-Or-Treat 2020 Times, Safety Tips

Lisle has recommended a list of safety tips for those who trick-or-treat amid the pandemic.

LISLE, IL — Lisle's trick-or-treat 2020 will be different from other years due to the new coronavirus. Lisle's 2020 trick-or-treat times are set for 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31 and the village has released a list of safety tips for residents who decide to take part in trick-or-treating.

Residents who do not want to have trick-or-treaters at their home should leave their porch lights off, village officials said in a news release. They can also display a "no trick-or-treating" sign.

Trick-or-treat signs are also available for pickup at Village Hall, 925 Burlington Ave.

Residents who choose to welcome trick-or-treaters can post a "trick-or-treaters welcome" sign and should follow these safety tips:

  • Turn on your porch light
  • Wear a cloth mask
  • Wear gloves
  • Only hand out prepackaged candy
  • Pass out candy one at a time instead of having children take from a communal bowl
  • Consider using a table at the end of your driveway to hand out candy or have goodie bags available to help create some physical distance between you and trick-or-treaters.

For those who trick-or-treat, the village offers the following safety tips:

  • Do not trick-or-treat if you are feeling unwell, are awaiting coronavirus test results or have been exposed to coronavirus
  • Keep trick-or-treating groups small
  • Maintain at least six feet of social distance from others
  • Wear a mask that covers both your nose and your mouth
  • Use hand sanitizer often
