The grant provides almost $25,000 in Home Depot materials, delivery charges and rental fees

The following was provided by the Lisle VFW:
"The Lisle Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5696, has been awarded a grant by the Home Depot Foundation for the benefit of a local Veteran whom the Post is sponsoring. Mr. Wayne Lewis of 6335 Knollwood Court in Lisle, a Marine Corps Veteran, will receive an “extreme exterior makeover” of his home as part of the “Doing More for Veterans” program. The grant provides almost $25,000 in Home Depot materials, delivery charges, rental fees and the volunteer labor necessary to make it all possible.
Tuesday, April 11, 2017 has been designated as “Home Depot Day” for Mr. Lewis; from 7:30am until 3:00pm, approximately 100 volunteers from Home Depot and the local community will be at his home to repair, upgrade, paint and landscape. The Home Depot Foundation partners with non-profits to honor Veterans and support local communities. This grant is part of Home Depot’s commitment to grow its support for Veteran related causes to a quarter of a billion dollars by 2020. The Lisle VFW, Ross Bishop Post 5696, is a non-profit Veteran Service Organization, committed to helping local Veterans, promoting patriotism and contributing to the betterment of the Lisle community."
