Lisle Village Board Approves Property Tax Levy with No Increases

For the second year in a row, the Lisle Village Board has approved a property tax levy that does not include an increase. Property owners, on average, will see a reduction in the Village of Lisle’s portion of their 2018 property tax bill (to be paid in 2019). Services provided by the Village will remain unaffected.

The approved levy includes a contribution to the Police Pension Fund that meets the actuarial recommendation and the Police Pension Board’s requested contribution amount. The levy was approved at the December 3, 2018 Village Board meeting.

“Officials and Village staff members have worked together to hold the line on property taxes for a second year while at the same time continuing to provide quality municipal services for our residents and businesses,” said Mayor Chris Pecak. “Through streamlining and continuing to pursue operational efficiencies, we have been able to keep Lisle residents and businesses in mind as we went about identifying ways to control costs.”

Through newly constructed properties within the Village’s boundaries sharing in the remittance of property taxes, residents are expected to see a reduction in the Village’s portion of their tax bill.

Assessed valuations of properties and tax levies from local taxing bodies are currently being compiled by DuPage County, and a preliminary tax rate that includes levies from the Village of Lisle and other taxing bodies is expected to be announced in March of 2019. A final tax rate will be available in May of 2019.
