Lisle Village Official Sentenced to Jail for Third DUI

He was found asleep and intoxicated in a parked and running car in Winfield after spending the evening at a St. Charles bar

Timothy Seeden, the village clerk of Lisle, was sentenced to four months of the sheriff's work release program on Thursday, according to the Daily Herald. He will also serve two years of probation, attend counseling, pay over $3,900 in fees and fines, and participate in a victim impact panel.

In August 2015 a Winfield police officer found Seeden asleep in a running, parked car on on Jewell Road near Winfield Road just after 3 a.m. Seeden had spend the evening in a St. Charles bar and had a blood alcohol content of .224, almost three times the legal limit.

Seeden was convicted of a DUI in 1983 and 1985. He has been the elected village clerk of Lisle since 1999, and he could keep working.

According to the DuPage Sheriff's website, the periodic imprisonment program allows inmates to work outside the jail, but return at night. Inmates in the program can spend 65 hours per week out of custody in their first month and 80 hours per week in the following months.

Seeden did not file to be on the April ballot, and his term ends this year.

"It's really an unfortunate situation (Seeden) has found himself in," Lisle Mayor Joe Broda told the Daily Herald. "I wish him well."
