LLCEF Announces Collegiate Scholarship Recipients

A total of 22 scholarship applications were received

As part of an ongoing commitment to support education and community service, the Lisle Lions CIub Educational Foundation has received twenty-two (22) scholarship applications from senior high school students living in the 60532 area zip code. Applications were received from Lisle students attending Naperville North, Illinois Math and Science Academy and Lisle Senior High Schools. Two collegiate and three Presidents Choice scholarships were awarded, each has an annual value of $500. Each can be renewable for three additional years for a total value of $2,000.00 over four years.

Selections are based on Leadership Qualities; Academic Potential, Career Aspirations, Community Participation and Financial Need. Selections were made by the Lisle Lions Club Educational Foundation Committee. Recipients were announced during Lisle Senior High School's Honors Night activities.

with the goal is to obtain a PhD and becoming an Obstetrics - Gynecology (OB-GYN) Doctor; Emily Baur plans to attend Valparaiso University - Business Analytics & Psychology; Michelle O. Osagie plans to attend Washington University in St Louis or Yale University with Biochemistry (Major); Elizabeth LaScala plans to attend Central Michigan University majoring in Conservation Biology: and Alexandria Pascente plans to attend the College of DuPage majoring in Accounting.

Scholarship renewals for the 2018/19 college year were provided to twelve Lisle students; Katherine Young, Leah Reeves, Cora Rebhan, Edoise Omoike, Samuel Tarasewicz, Jessica Metelski, Melanie Rohla, Jennifer Cail, Jessica Suderski, Christopher Faulstich, Ramses Banda-Romero and Robbie Plank. All are continuing their education at the universities of their choice. The total amount of scholarships provided by the Lisle Lions Club is in excess of $8,500 for the 20181 19 collegiate year.

The Lisle Lions Club Educational Foundation is a 501 (c)3 organization, therefore, your donations are tax deductible and 100% of all funds received will be used for Senior High School Scholarships for students living in the 60532 zip code. The Lisle Lions Club is also pleased to announce recipients of the 2018 Eighth Grade Achievement Awards: From St. Joan of Arc Junior High School, Sean Zurek and Nora Shannon and from Lisle Junior High School, Austin Hahn and Meg Cadell. Achievement Award Guidelines are: 1) To be a good student (works to his/her best ability, 2) To be involved in extracurricular school activities (band, clubs, sports), 3) Be a good class citizen (gets along well with others and goes “the extra mile” to help others, and 4) To be involved in family and community activities.

Selections are made by a committee of St. Joan and Lisle Junior High School teachers and administrators.

Funds for these awards are generated, by each of you, when you attend or volunteer your time to the Lisle Lions Club at the Eyes to the Skies Festival in June/July 2018.
