Man Charged With Being High On Weed During Head-On Crash In Lisle

LISLE, IL — A 20-year-old Wheaton man is facing DUI charges after he was accused of being high on cannabis when he got into a head-on crash in Lisle Monday. Police say the crash took place just after 7 p.m. near the intersection of Route 53 and Main Street.

According to police, the man was driving south on Route 53, when he went into the opposite lane and hit another car head-on. Police say no one was seriously injured in the crash.

The driver was charged with DUI, unlawful possession of cannabis, and improper lane usage. On Facebook, Lisle police used the crash as an example that they said highlights the "importance of not driving while impaired."
