Man Robbed Restaurants At Gunpoint In Lisle, Downers Grove: Cops
Police say Devonte Johnson, 20, stole hundreds of dollars when he robbed a Downers Grove Domino's and a Lisle Dunkin Donuts.

LISLE, IL — A Chicago man is being held without bond after he was charged with robbing a Lisle Dunkin Donuts and a Downers Grove Domino's Pizza at gunpoint. Police say Devonte Johnson, 20, stole hundreds of dollars in the robberies, which took place Jan. 4.
Johnson and another man are accused of coming to the Dunkin Donuts at 4300 Lincoln Ave. in Lisle around 1:19 p.m. Saturday and robbing the business at gunpoint.
According to police, Johnson and the other man later came into the Domino's Pizza at 5531 Belmont Rd. around 1:30 p.m. that same day. Police say Johnson pointed a gun at the cashier and took money from the register before ordering the cashier to open the safe and taking additional money from there.

Johnson and the other man then fled in a Mercedes Benz that was reported stolen out of Bolingbrook, according to police. Johnson was arrested in Oak Park without incident later that night.
In a statement DuPage County State'e Attorney Robert Berlin said, "It is alleged that Mr. Johnson armed himself, traveled to DuPage County, robbed two businesses and threatened at least one individual at gunpoint who was just trying to make an honest living. This type of violent behavior will not be tolerated in DuPage County and if found guilty Mr. Johnson will find himself behind bars for a significant amount of time."

Johnson is set to appear in court again on Jan. 29.
