Methamphetamine, Pot Found In Abandoned Car In Lisle: Cops

Police arrested Sammy Rice, 31, of Blue Island in connection with the incident.

LISLE, IL — A Blue Island man is under arrest after police say they found cannabis, an open bottle of alcohol and close to 100 methamphetamine pills in his car, which was abandoned in the 2200 block of Ogden Avenue in Lisle.

Sammy Rice, 31, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving while license suspended, transporting open alcohol within a vehicle, failure to notify police after a traffic accident, and unlawful possession of marijuana in connection with Wednesday's incident.

Police say they got a report of a broken down Nissan Altima blocking two lanes of traffic around 8:37 a.m. When they got to the scene, police say they saw front-end damage on the car and noticed that two tires were flat and both airbags had deployed. A curb several blocks away was found to have had damage consistent with the car's, according to police.
