New Coronavirus Cases Decrease In Lisle

LISLE, IL — Lisle has seen 22 new coronavirus cases in the past week, according to information from DuPage County Health Department. These numbers are slightly less than the previous week, which saw 27 new coronavirus cases.

As of Feb. 23, Lisle had reported 1,587 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 1,609 as of March 2.

Lisle reported one more coronavirus death in the past week. To date, there have been a total of 29 coronavirus-related deaths in the village, DCHD reports.

The number of coronavirus cases in nearby Naperville has increased by 92 cases in the past week in DuPage County, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). This is notably less than the previous week, which saw 123 new coronavirus cases.

As of Feb. 23, there had been 6,210 cases reported in the DuPage County portion of Naperville. The total number of cases reported in Naperville as of March 2 was 6,302 per DCHD.

Naperville saw three more coronavirus deaths in the past week. There have been a total of 131 coronavirus-related deaths in Naperville since DCHD began tracking coronavirus statistics.

DuPage County recently reported that close to one in seven residents had received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The county also marked another milestone as its overall coronavirus positivity rate dropped to 3.4 percent, its lowest point since June 2020.

The risk of transmission in DuPage County is currently classified as "substantial."
