Police Seek Man in Naperville Attempted Armed Robbery

Naperville police are looking for a man involved in an attempted armed robbery.

Police said the incident occurred at 5:50 p.m. on Nov. 30 when a resident was walking his dog in the 600 block of Porter and man approached him asking for directions. The man then pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded a cell phone and cash from the resident. 

The man is being described as a black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, jeans and dark gym shoes. 

"After no cash or cell phone was given the male walked away," according to police. "The area was checked with negative results."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
